Zac Tortiamah Sherman is a Liberian entrepreneur and leader with a BBA in Management and Entrepreneurship from the University of Liberia. As the founder and General Manager of Unique Contractor Company (UC-Com), Zac has united a team of skilled professionals to deliver services in general construction, electrical systems, communication device installation, and refrigeration and air conditioning maintenance managing the company’s operations. In addition to his entrepreneurial success, Zac is a seasoned journalist with over a decade of experience, holding key roles such as broadcaster, reporter, and Sub-Editor at Verity News, where he contributes extensively on governance, politics, and economic issues. He once served as News Editor at KMTV Liberia prior to serving at Verity Newspaper, owned by Youth Activist Matin K. N. Kollie. He also helped in managing the Lechie Pharmacy on Johnson Street , Central Monrovia. Zac’s leadership extends to community development, where he serves as Youth Chairman of Warwein Community and District #8 Youth Coordinator, advocating for youth empowerment and grassroots growth, sponsoring, managing social, educational, development projects in communities. His dynamic leadership and management skills have positioned him as a significant figure in both professional and community spheres.
Mr. Jallah is an accomplished Civil Engineer with extensive experience managing diverse construction projects and delivering high-quality infrastructure solutions. As the Construction Manager for Unique Contractor Company (UC-Com), he leads multidisciplinary teams in executing projects ranging from building construction and road infrastructure to water towers and modern markets. With a BSc (Honors) in Civil Engineering from Stella Maris Polytechnic University, Mr. Jallah combines technical expertise with strong project management skills to ensure projects are completed on schedule, within budget, and to the highest standards. He has successfully supervised projects like the Liberia RETRAP initiative, overseeing the construction of modern markets, warehouses, and water reservoirs, and has contributed to road design for rural development and urban planning projects. Mr. Jallah proficiency in engineering design, quality assurance, and team coordination is complemented by his dedication to sustainable practices and compliance with local regulations. His hands-on leadership, ability to address challenges, and focus on delivering client satisfaction make him an invaluable asset to UC-Com’s mission of excellence in construction services.
Bennie W. Vaye is a distinguished electrical engineer with a strong academic background and extensive experience in Liberia’s energy sector. A magna cum laude graduate of Stella Maris Polytechnic University, Bennie earned an Associate degree in Electrical Engineering in 2022 and a Bachelor’s degree in 2024. He also holds diplomas in Electricity and Solar Photovoltaic Installation from the Netlib Vocational Training Institute and Don Bosco Technical School, respectively. Professionally, Bennie serves as Deputy Project Manager for Liberia Electricity Corporation’s $9 million Normalization and Mass Metering (NORMMET) project, where he oversees 66 staff members to expand energy access and improve operational outcomes. Previously, he played a key role in implementing a $150,000 solar energy initiative under eki FUNDACIÓ’N, delivering solar solutions to clinics, schools, and charity centers. Bennie is also passionate about education and community leadership. He has taught Physics and Mathematics at Maretha International Preparatory High School and served as a teaching assistant in Electrical Engineering at Stella Maris Polytechnic University. As Vice President of the Firestone Senior High School Alumni Association, Bennie promotes community engagement and development initiatives. His leadership as President of the Electrical and Electronics Students Association (EESA) included organizing workshops, symposiums, and impactful training programs. With a commitment to innovation, Bennie’s contributions include research on grid reliability, renewable energy, and outage management, published at the 2024 Engineering Society of Liberia (ESOL) Conference. As a founding member of Unique Contractor Company (UC-Com), Bennie combines his technical expertise with a passion for sustainable development, driving Liberia’s energy sector forward.
Deazie Y. Gbeisay is a passionate young engineer, a Bachelor of Science (BSc) degree candidate in Electrical Engineering at Stella Maris Polytechnic University and earned an Associate of Science (ASc) degree in Electrical Engineering with Cum Laude honors in 2023. He also holds a diploma in Electricity from the Paynesville Vocational Training Center (2021) and is currently pursuing advanced training in Solar Panel Systems at Don Bosco Technical Vocational School. Deazie brings extensive experience in electrical design and project implementation across residential and industrial sectors, with a focus on quality, safety, and efficiency. In 2024, he interned as an electrician at APM Terminals Liberia Ltd, enhancing his technical skills. He previously served as Electrical Supervisor for the Electrical and Electronics Students Association (EESA) Vocational Program at Stella Maris Polytechnic University. From 2019 to 2021, Deazie worked as Financial Manager at JHM Corporation, where he provided financial and technical services to the organization. Deazie specializes in managing electrical systems, ensuring compliance with industry standards, and delivering exceptional results within deadlines and budgets, making him a valuable asset to UC-Com’s leadership team.
